Étienne Leperlier

Pâte de verre artist

28 February 2015 to 20 September 2015

For nearly thirty-five years, Etienne Leperlier (1952-2014) used specific pâte de verre techniques and its amazing colouration effects for his artworks and sculptures.
Based on architectural models, surrealistic ideas and historical decorative art forms, his creations played a key role in the renaissance of contemporary glass arts.
With a selection of a hundred and twenty creations, this retrospective exhibition presents his first sculptures produced in very limited editions in the 1980s, the short period of numbered specimens created at the beginning of the 1990s, and lastly, the last twenty years of the artist where he created unique objects.
