A witness to his time, David Reekie expresses with humor and irony his vision of the human condition by creating figurative sculptures, whose expressions recall the attitudes and reactions of men in society such as individualism, conformism and conflict. First, he makes preparatory drawings to give shape to his models and fix the colors, then then creates his works in lost-wax molded glass paste. For several years, his characters have appeared as a duo in relatively symmetrical compositions. they express the duality of good and evil, difference, dialogue, encounter or even - as for this last sculpture created for the exhibition at the Conches glass museum - negotiation. Here, the two men hold in their hands painted wooden balls, objects of their negotiation.
