Etienne Leperlier learned about the glass paste technique with his brother Antoine in the workshop of their grandfather François Décorchemont in the early 1980s. In parallel with the production of glass paste vases and cups that Throughout his life, he also created numerous sculptures marked by imprints, shadows and reflections. In the series of Loose Parts that he began in 2010, Etienne Leperlier explores more precisely the intervals that remain empty between the fragments of the sculpture and in this way invites us to mentally recompose the object in its integrity. However, the reflection of the blue color which diffuses in the glass blocks further modifies our perception of the sculpture. Offered by the artist, this new work in glass paste completes a collection fairly representative of his career, kept at the Conches glass museum.
