Loetz 1900

At the end of the 19th century, the Loetz glassworks had a highly successful glassware production in Bohemia, in the heart of Europe.

With iridescent surface decorations and undulating forms inspired by nature, the glassworks’ vases and cups are fully consistent with the Austrian Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) style, which predominated in this era’s decorative arts. This constant and unwavering creativity, partially made possible thanks to partnerships with Viennese shopkeepers and artists, also led him to receive several awards in World Expositions, in particular in Paris in 1900.

With nearly one hundred and twenty objects from the Hentrich Glasmuseum in Dusseldorf for half of them, the Conches Glass Museum is proud to present for the very first time in France, a major exhibition of the famous Austrian glassworks, Loetz.
