Contemporary Slovak Glass
Postponed exhibition opening
In order to stop the spread of the coronavirus, the museum is currently closed to the public and the opening of the exhibition of contemporary Slovak glass has been postponed.
Slovakia has been an important focal point in contemporary glass creations ever since a department in glass arts opened in 1965, at the Bratislava Academy of Fine Arts. Including many prismatic sculptures made from optical glass in the 1970s to more current and diversified creations requiring several casting and fusing techniques, as well as blown or painted glass, in our new exhibition at the Conches Glass Museum we are proud to present nearly eighty works of art, mainly from Slovak museums or sculptures on loan to us from artists, to give you an overview of contemporary Slovak glass art.
