A tribute to Barlach Heuer

Born in Germany in 1930 into a family that supported artists from the German Expressionist Movement, Barlach Heuer lived his passion for art throughout his entire life. In 1952, he married a French lady and moved to Paris, where he began to work as a painter, before quickly shifting his creative activity towards prints. In the 1960s, while working as an artist, he became fascinated by Art Nouveau - Art Deco glass, which brought him to Conches where he met François Décorchemont, and they jointly created seven stained-glass windows from his prints. Since that time, he has become a leading amateur and collector in this field. More recently, as he loved the Conches Glass Museum, he donated several glass artworks to it, and in 2018 he donated his entire collection of glassware from Manufacture Schneider, over one hundred objects. A year after his death, the Conches Glass Museum and AMCO would like to pay tribute to him, on Thursday, 10 September, with an afternoon of testimonials given by people who knew him well.

This event will be organised at the Conches Salle de Spectacles (14 rue Jacques Villon in Conches), with the kind assistance of AMCO, the Friends of the Conches Museums Association.
