Summary: Slovakia has been an important focal point in contemporary glass creations ever since a department in glass arts opened in 1965, at the Bratislava Academy of Fine Arts. Including many prismatic sculptures made from optical glass in the 1970s to more current and diversified creations requiring several casting and fusing techniques, as well as blown or painted glass, this catalogue accompanies the Contemporary Slovak Glass - 1960-2020 exhibition, presenting two essays on the subject as well as notices on nearly eighty works of art, mostly on loan from Slovak museums or loaned to us from artists themselves, and tells the story of contemporary Slovak glass.
