Summary: Though François Décorchemont (1880-1971) is widely known for his objects made from pâte de verre and his stained-glass windows in churches in the Eure, he is much less known for his painting. Nonetheless, throughout his entire life, this artist, born in Conches, painted landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, where we can often seen, as in his glass art, his sensitivity for light and colours. In 2013, in the framework of of the second edition of the Normandy Festival of Impressionists, the Musée du Pays de Conches organised an exhibition and edited a catalogue with a selection of forty paintings of Normand countryside, the Nivernais Canal, and lakes and streams in the Eure department.
