Summary: Isabelle Monod discovered glass arts when her husband, Claude Monod, created his hot-working glass studio in 1976, in the outskirts of Nice. She began by creating vases, then small volumes progressively put on top of one another to create equilibrated compositions, sometimes associated with other types of material, which are often natural. In the 2000s, she fused these elements to make one object. After a bibliography of the artist written by Eric Louet, the exhibition’s curator, describing the unique personal journey of this artist who took part in the renewal of French glassmaking and sculpture, the catalogue presents the one hundred and twenty objects created between 1976 and 2011 shown in the exhibition presented in the Conches Glass Museum.
